Choosing a Martial Arts School
The decision to enroll your child and/or yourself in a school of Martial Arts represents both an investment of time and money. However, choosing the right school is not always easy as there are many factors that one must consider. As you choose a Martial Arts School in Las Vegas, one of the most important factors is that the school is certified.
Taekwondo: We offer a Korean Kukkiwon Certified Taekwondo program, which is important to an individual’s martial arts training. Being a Kukkiwon Certified School means that we are held to the strictest standards by the Kukkiwon who oversees Taekwondo worldwide! By following these strict standards and teaching system, it allows us to certify that as the student moves through the ranks, that the belt levels they achieve are recognized. As you train in Taekwondo at our school, you will be recognized as a Black Belt both nationally and internationally. There are many, many Taekwondo schools in Las Vegas that turn out students and hand them Black Belts, but unless they have the Kukkiwon approval, the Black Belt is only as good as the piece of paper it is written on. As a Kukkiwon Certified School, our instructors are certified and re-certified every 2 years. Kukkiwon rank is the most sought after Taekwondo rank in the world and is considered the Gold Star Standard in the Taekwondo Community. Students with this rank are recognized worldwide and are looked upon with great respect by the Taekwondo Community.
JudoKickBox: JudoKickBox was founded by Carlos Finales Abal, and Co-founded by Eric Castaños, both Cuban born. JudoKickBox is the Cuban MMA (Mixed Martial Art) that awards belts and ranks according the athlete’s level by training time. In JudoKickBox you learn how to use Judo throws and submissions (Kosen Judo). JudoKickBox combines Judo, Kickboxing and Boxing techniques in only one combination all together which we call "Chain Reaction". As a Cuban MMA it can be more effective than traditional MMA.
Tai Chi: We offer a Tai Chi program certified by the Tai Chi for Health Institute and endorsed by The National Arthritis Foundation. Tai Chi (pronounced chee and sometimes spelled Qi) is a gentle exercise program that is part of traditional Chinese Medicine. Tai Chi is derived from the Martial Arts and is composed of slow, deliberate, standing moves; meditation and deep breathing which enhance physical health and emotional well-being. The gentle movements use all major muscle groups and joints which promotes and improves balance, agility, strength, flexibility, stamina, muscle tone and coordination. Tai Chi’s low-impact, weight-baring movements allow the Chi (Qi) or life energy, to follow throughout the body; Chi (Qi) must be able to move freely for good health.
Tumbling: You are in great hands at Unity Martial Arts Academy. Our instructors are talented, certified, well trained, champions and recognized both nationally and internationally. They love what they do, and it shows in our students, on the floor and in their own lives.
